Spotted a White Faced Heron today! #birds #ausbirds #whitefacedheron #heron
A white faced heron, a large waterbird, is making a small leap from one shallow patch of water, to another. Its wings are spread outwards, and its yellow legs stretched behind it. Behind it is brown water, reflecting a blue sky, and a mixture of green and brown grass is growing in the water beneath it.

I was trying to read a sign, when this Willie Wagtail decided it was far more interesting, and landed on top of it! I couldn't believe how close I was to it, and it sat there so patiently while I snapped pics! #birds #ausbirds #wagtail

Definitely got a kick out of watching some Silver Gulls chase each other for a slice of fruit toast, but I think this shot of the gull showing off its telekinesis powers is my favourite! #birds #ausbirds #seagull #silvergull

Got to witness a Nankeen Kestrel today, making a meal out of a fat, juicy locust! #birds #ausbirds #kestrel

Caught a Nankeen Kestrel hovering right above me today! #birds #ausbirds #kestrel

I stumbled across this little guy by surprise! I didn't even know he was on a rock next to me until I looked over, I think I was more surprised than they were! #birds #ausbirds
A juvenile Pied Cormorant is standing alone on a rock, with a small portion of green water in the top right corner. This juvenile has brown feathers, instead of black like an adult. Its feathers also look alot less refined, presumably being its first plumage.

I was quite surprised yesterday to have found a black swan! I've never seen them up where Iive, so I consider it a stroke of luck! I think I was disturbing it's rest though. #birds #ausbirds
