After not buying a physical book in at least 5 years, I seem to have acquired 3 this week (plus a crossword calendar) thanks to @scriblit.bsky.social‘s donation of these 2 for Children in Read.
Two books from the “Cursed” series of book from Gabby Hutchinson Crouch. Longer description: on the left, with a reddish cover is “Cursed Under London” and on the right with a light purple cover is “Cursed in the Lost City”. The books are on a light grey carpet which is hopefully not showing any dirt. And yes, you might argue that it’s not light purple but some other shade between red and blue, but we can at least agree it’s not magenta.

Anyone know how to detuna guitar?

Long description: (ok, you know me by now, this is waffle not a description) to be fair, I don't think any of the fish depicted are tuna, the bottom one looks red and grumpy, so would in an ideal world be a red snapper but almost certainly isn't, and the top one almost looks more like an eel. I haven't checked the licensing, but if this doesn't count as fair use (and an advert for shutterstock) then I will withdraw the post on request (knowing full well how unlikely it is that they'll check, though I guess they could start using some content detection system, in which case my account was hacked and somebody else posted this).

Just got mine. Much as I like doing cryptic online, there's something nice about holding something in your hand and filling it in with a pen, or in my case copious amounts of pencil and eraser. Thanks and congratulations to all involved in producing it.
Unch magazine issue 1, sitting rather proudly, as well it might, on a grey carpet. Not that sitting on a grey carpet is anything to be proud of, even I can do that.

Rules and Ts&Cs apply." that was apparently sent "Yesterday, 12:42" though of course that was just yesterday when the screenshot was taken, it could well be several days in the past by now for all I know. Just to avoid confusion the screenshot was taken on 17th October 2025, so "yesterday" would have been the 16th. Who am I kidding, I've probably caused more confusion by going into such detail over an irrelevant part of the image. If you're still here, thanks for sticking with me, they're not all this rambling I promise.
