And it also *really* annoys me that (mostly) Americans think he was the first person to fly across the Atlantic.
Alcock & Brown did it 8 years before Lindberg (which, in terms of aviation technology at the time, was an age)

I got to the point in my working life when early retirement became an option, and the possibility of ending ~40 years of listening to someone (paid 10+ times more than me) spouting this sort of bollocks was certainly a very appealing factor in making my decision
