It was a weird summer. It really wore me down this year. I find myself not wanting to leave the mountains. May or may not be related to fogust.

I left the continuous wind, fog, and cold of SF this morning. A drive and a few yard chores later it’s time to remind myself to remember that it’s summer somewhere. 82 with blue skies as far as the eyes can see.

First day of home alone I spent chipping wood with my brother in law. Scraping paint sounds like a way to feel like you got shit done.

I’m in my happy place. It’s 90 and blue sky as far as you can see. Soon I’ll head back to whatever we call summer in SF.

The best decision I’ve made in years was getting a place in the mountains where I can work on a piece of land. Get out of the city from time to time.

We had them growing up to call our deaf grandparents. Except we called them ttys. There was a commonly accepted protocol, like ending your line with GA to signal the other party to Go Ahead. Now you’d FaceTime and have ASL. But back then it was magic.

That’s lovely. The Venus fly trap I got for my kid and then ended up adopting so it wouldn’t die, bloomed and I didn’t even know that was a thing.

Thanks! We had someone do something similar with our last fur baby after running into us on the street. I can't find the original but the insta version contains most of the cuteness.

Next time I'm having a bad day, I'll say well at least its better then that day our JRT, Santi, got a foxtail embedded in his scrotum and had to have surgery.
