I either describe the environment outside (temperature, weather, colors) then jump to scene, or do some kind of sound...I'm not sure WHY tbh , I think it's just an easy way for me to "walk" into the scene. I think of the senses, what they hear and see and feel and go from there

thank you !! I don't remember exactly when I added that line...I know it was fairly early, though ! I think chapter 2 was the first stuff I wrote for this manuscript, then added chapter 1...weirdly enough, I start all my stuff with a sound/noise that sets the pace of the scene

i write my best scenes on my phone on a note app LOL
