Your patience while I'm being stressed over this is very much appreciated.

Yeah I sat down with Tube Time for an hour or so last night and we started separating the various parts of the feedback sections. the 10V reference voltage circuit makes more sense now but the usage of zeners is strange when the 723's have their own voltage reference circuit.

Hmm we shall talk then!

(also, it's great to see you again! :D )

Yeah. This thing is still a linear, but it's way more intelligent than I am used to. It's also riddled with really confusing design choices. Four-Phase themselves did not like these supplies, but never replaced it with something better.

Unfortunately no schematics for the IV/70's power supply are known to exist. When I had it apart for cleaning and recapping I took really nice photos of everything, but that's all I really have in terms of technical details.

And it still doesn't want to work. The +5 will not regulate down from 7v with a dummy load and I don't even know what the appropriate bench configuration is for testing. I really wish I knew people locally who were more experienced with linear power supplies.

I've seen the simulated ones recently but they are too expensive to be in "buy it and mess around with it for a while" territorry.

This came across as sounding mean but really, an over-moderated community is just as bad as a community that has no moderation. The feedback feels synthetic. There is no direct criticism and if the discussion starts with a canned reminder of the rules, the discussion can't evolve into anything else.

Covid did weird things to the older supply chain. Bleh.

Prior-warning: I ran out of time on editing this week's actual video so if you notice a slight set continuity error, that is because this was recorded almost three years ago.
