Nintendo would never publish such a hostile and abrasive game nowadays, much less one starring one of their flagship characters

I finally found a way past it, but I don’t feel a sense of accomplishment, just a feeling of “jeez finally.” I guess I’ll continue but it really killed my enjoyment momentum.

Each series has a different feel to it, so I think you’re fine choosing the one that interests you the most. My personal recommendation is TNG, but I’m biased because that was my gateway to it.
