A MODEST PROPOSAL

I don't need a $20,000 manikin not quite capable of loading the dishwasher.

I don't need AI to drive my car.

Why not create a non-anthropomorphic bot that finds a homeless person and provides essential life support such as shelter and nutrition?

Fund it from the police budget.

But on a day where the president both just called a woman reporter "Piggy" and is celebrating someone who had people bone saw apart one of my colleagues, I might just be a little ready to defend my colleagues and profession.

But that's just me

In my latest piece, I look at the implications of Border Patrol usurping top command posts in ICE leadership...
"we can expect an expansion of egregious abuses — and a lack of accountability, opaqueness, and zero oversight."

Opinion | New ICE leadership brings more violence, no accountability and zero oversight
If Border Patrol leaders take over ICE, it's likely both agencies will continue avoiding repercussions for violence and deaths in custody.
