For 20 minutes, Americans watched Donald Trump address the nation, “drenched in pure panic as he tried to bully an entire nation into admitting he’s doing a great job,” @RadioFreeTom argues: www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...
This Is What Presidential Panic Looks Like
Donald Trump delivered a fear-drenched rant live from the White House.

Neither. It's that nonstop repetitive "Carol of the Bells," which might as well be called "Bolero for Christmas."
I cannot decide which Christmas song is more annoying, "Little Drummer Boy" with its relentless "bump-bump-bump-bum" over and over and over and over again, or "We Need a Little Christmas" with lyrics that sound like a plea from
someone who is calling the suicide prevention hot line.

If you can find a Crown Vic in decent shape, you'll have the best car of your life! I had a '94 that I drove 'til it was over 30 years old and I couldn't get parts easily. I still miss that tank!
finding myself at that age where I'm really yearning to buy a piece-of-shit Crown Vic (salvage title)

Not to mention the pregnant women #ICE has zip-tied and thrown to the ground, some slammed down on their stomachs and held there with a knee to their back.
Republicans are not “Pro-Life” and they never were.
A chilling account of what stress from ICE raids does to the pregnant body: high blood pressure, disrupted sleep, chest pains, depression. And when immigrants fear going outside, they skip prenatal appts & go untreated. OBs are worried: "These policies are having very deep effects on our patients.”

Really? White House staffers feel "demoralized?" Now they know how the rest of have felt for most of 2025.

Sounds to me like #Trump wants to provoke a war so he can "end" another one.
He's not going to put boots on the ground.
Venezuela is a big country, Maduro says they are going the gorilla warfare route, which we will lose.
This is another American useless War where many service men and women will die for nothing, and a lot of money will be wasted.🤦🏾‍♀️

Silent shepherds: Church leaders are ignoring our immigrant neighbors
Ever since the 2024 campaign and election, the silence of Catholic leaders on social issues often mentioned in Scripture has been deafening. I wonder why there is such disinterest.

Wow. Talk about the Age of Mediocrity! Unfortunately, the #FBI has put lives at stake with its incompetence.

Well, no. If this is a poll, this woman does NOT want to be with #Trump, figuratively or literally.

This isn't even intelligent enough to be #gaslighting.

They all deserve each other and every bit of their stupidity.
Apparently the WH Chief of Staff has been the victim of having her own words printed in a story.

#Trump doesn't hear himself when he's awake, so I doubt he hears himelf when he's asleep.

Now wait a minute. That might be true. #Trump has many issues, domestic and foreign, that he needs to dance around.

Speaking ill of the dead is controversial, particularly when it was a violent death. It’s edgy; it’s sensitive; best avoided in most cases, etc.

Baselessly making another person’s murder *about yourself,* and then approving of it, is a different thing. That is delusional, narcissistic, sociopathic.

I can only hope that everyone on the JetBlue plane was dressed appropriately, according to #SeanDuffy standards!
“The air traffic controller said he couldn’t see the tanker on his radar screen either, but suggested the unknown military aircraft was part of a trend. ‘They’ve been outrageous with the unidentified aircraft within our airspace,’ the controller told the pilot.”

Oh great.

Look at it this way, the people who have just lost the Calibri font, the people who truly need it to read, still have their Second Amendment rights. That says all we need to know about priorities.

$1500 might buy a couple of weeks worth of groceries.
Our premiums are going up $1,500 per month.
There is no real Republican plan on health care.

Giving folks a one-time payment of $1,500 isn’t enough – it’ll only cover a fraction of the skyrocketing premiums Republicans are unleashing on Americans.

Greg Bovino is more than a little full of himself and, unfortunately, has the backing of the US government which continues to grant him these abusive and illegal powers.
Bovino, the man overseeing mass deportations, publicly declared that we must all have our papers on us, at all times, or we could be stopped, harassed, kidnapped, and detained, as they did with the man in this case, who is a US citizen.

I have a better idea to "preserve the magic of reading." Just read the book then think about what you have read and go back to reread and savor passages that resonate. The magic is the reader's mind, not #AI
Glad I never joined the Kindle craze

#WritingCommunity
This infuriates me.

They're embedding an AI in Kindles that is empowered to analyze our books without our permission and tell the reader about them....likely inaccurately.

We have no recourse.
