Earlier this month our vet told us she found a new sister for our dog. This little was wandering the streets of South Jackson and was kind of a mess. The amazing people at our vet clinic fixed her up and now she’s home with us. I’m so happy to have her in the family ♥️

So about this Wooking for Love show. It makes me sad that people who have yet to learn about wooks are now going to find out about the stupid stuff that comes with that. I haven’t thought about Trustifarians since I left Boulder almost 20 years ago and now they will be culturally relevant. Ugh.

I’m happy it’s the holiday season but this year especially I feel more excited about getting through December so we can get to crawfish and king cake time.

Seeing stories written unironically about men being “uncancelled” and “reverse cancelled” makes me feel like walking into the Gulf of Mexico. Instead I’m going log off for a while and finish the book I’m reading about the execution of women as witches in 16th century Scotland. ✌🏻✌🏻

I love cooking Thanksgiving meals but I will never again cook my own turkey because I am surrounded by stores who smoke turkeys and they are better than anything I would do.
Here’s a non-Thanksgiving turkey tip: if you have a reliable local barbecue spot and they make smoked turkey and you’ve never had whatever kind of turkey sandwich they make with it, it will probably change your life

2 years ago I thought I would never be able to run without pain ever again and today a jogged a mile in 12 minutes. It probably doesn’t sound like much but it took a lot to make it happen, and I hope with continued strength work will get better. Fitness goals don’t have to be ambitious to matter.

I don’t know where to buy tasso for my thanksgiving maque choux so I’m making it?! It seems pretty straightforward but this is my first effort at curing. Will report back.

I explained this to people watching the semifinal with me today who don’t watch a lot of soccer and their minds were blown. I love the NWSL.

It will likely not get that much attention today, but a court-ordered special redistricting election, which made house districts more representative in Mississippi, resulted in the end of a republican supermajority in the state house. District 22, thank you for making your voices heard.
