Put my arm up to stop a woman from walking in front of a car; she was on the phone with a friend gushing about how jealous she was of some tickets. I'm extremely interested in what these tickets are to! Drop the deets girl!

Senseless cruelty. I have a lot of theories on the damages sports enact through gender segregation onto young people in schools, if I was able to live in a multiverse and had time for another PhD
Nothing is a better demonstration of the anti-scientific nature of banning trans women from sports than the fact that the IOC's OWN STUDY found no evidence trans women have any advantage over cis women in sports, but they're planning on going ahead with banning us anyways
IOC edges closer to ban on transgender women in female Olympic events

My classes in the Visual Narrative MFA program at Boston University are extremely focused on writing for comic books because I am also completely sick of this. Let's change the game.
Many comics look great but are badly written, or about fuck all. I own so many books like this. At the same time, if the story is real whatever, but the art is so entertaining, I can forgive it. Sometimes the way something is drawn can make you think more than how the story it’s set in reads.
Anyone have a particularly hot comic take?

my heart grew three sizes when I received this call for papers, I need to know the theological reading of the Silver Surfer as a messianic figure right now, I can't go on

you'll all find out soon, but I have luckily structured my life where professionally it is important for me to google "baby opossum" often, because I am a genius

Obsessed that Jules posted this print collab from today actual seconds after I said I wasn't a furry
@cathygjohn.bsky.social and I screen printed envelopes featuring these cozy pups I drew for our studio binchqaw.studio's winter print shares today! i think they came out real cute :3

I am not a yellow snake but the idea of drawing a portrait of myself is far too excruciating just to negate the furry accusations

Not to out myself as someone who listens to economic podcasts, but they're starting to soft launch moving away from AI. And my assumption is if I personally know something then it's already happening, that burst is a-comin'

Extremely happy with how this second edition is coming out, maybe I won't be so snotty about reprints in the future

discussing the life, death, and resurrection of the Angry Birds menagerie with the young man bagging my groceries. He assured me the pigs just get a black eye, nothing to worry about, a little mark right here

This page is burned into my soul, not because of the action, but by how much I tried to copy that diamond border in the bottom panel by hand when I was 7 years old (I thought Naoko Takeuchi drew that, I wouldn't learn what screentone was until years later)
The thing to remember about Sailor Moon is that very early in the comic she has a cat that bounces off her head out of nowhere one morning who then becomes her best friend and guide. This is a magic cat but it's also pretty much how you get a cat in real life generally as well.

We saw Mother Courage last night, which I have seen before, and once again I was charmed it becomes a musical halfway through Act 1. We did get spit on during the last number, let's go Cook

There's a grocery store I like that shares its parking lot with a football stadium, and when there's a football game I can't go shopping there. I realize this is one of the biggest teams in the world, but there's still something so charmingly quaint about this scenario
