Same here -21 years in my garden & I still seem to make lots of boo-boos. At least folks like us are loving the learning & trying our best to understand ecologies & put holistic gardening practice into action. Never stop being you... I know you won't . Hoorah! 🙌🌍

I must note all of these little gems - you're obviously an expert. Thanks so much for the tips. 🙏

Their panicky sounding skwaking cry is unmistakable. Lovely jay feather drawing... ☺️🪶

Oh my word. That's a heinous story Ben. It must be tough for you to live in close proximity to such dangerous & gobsmacking ignorance. Some folks....😡Keep spreading the word about enlightened wildlife wisdom...🙏🌍🦊

Yes. Our poor wildlife have had so many challenges with the onset of global warming.

I get it from my local organic farm shop. Lots of their food arrives in wool eco packaging supplied from a company called WoolCool. www.woolcool.com It's heat treated & washed natural packing that's safe to use in gardens & even as pet bedding. The shop always have a glut of it & give it away, f.o.c

What a good idea. I'm growing potatoes in pots atm, because I don't think my beds are deep enough, yet to support root veg. I'm going to start off with planting leafy greens first, then add height to the beds, once I feel more confident & grow some root stuff. All so exciting though.

Ooo, must look him up Louise. I'm going off this little book. So much useful info. Has he written any books?

Love that you're a fan too. It's so rewarding, isnt it. I've never done it on such a large scale before, so I'm still learning the ropes. As you say, it's so much better than buying commercial (often, peat based) compost & the no dig bit saves my aching back.

Very informative Lynne & explains why you haven't seen many blackbirds in the London area. It talks about minimising standing water, but I have wildlife ponds, so not sure about what I do about those. I read that if you let plants grow across the water surface, it'll deter mossies from laying.
