"Blood for the Blood God" is not a policy I, a Democrat, feel comfortable asking of my elected officials. Neither is "A measure of wheat for a penny".

At this point I think even the Democrats accepting the CR wouldn't be a cave. I think this fight has inflicted mortal political damage on the GOP for their 2026-2028 prospects beyond (at least) my wildest expectations when the Democrats went into it.

I think a lot of people on this here App have conflated "We didn't fight for you at all" with "We fought hard and did not get what we said we wanted because there were a lot more of them".

Considering that the author doesn't seem to care as to *why* the Democrats may want to pass the CR (implicitly ignoring all the costs incurred via the shutdown or the text of the CR), I...think this is not a person anyone should listen to.

Even if the Democrats were to cave...then what? The CR on its face runs out in two weeks and the Republicans don't seem to have anything in the pipeline as a next step.

I honestly think that the conventional wisdom holds this as unthinkable right now, but I don't see how Johnson retains the Speakership even *if* the Democrats cave.
I suspect that Leader Jeffries has had some *very* interesting conversations recently.

It's also hilarious, in a horrifying way, how the Supreme Court managed to make it worse by allowing Vought to do a pocket recession for no really helpful reason.

Notice how he was not in Southwest Virginia the weekend before a hotly contested statewide race? Or how he was chilling at Mar-a-Lago instead of his Jersey club before a hotly contested statewide race?

I noticed an uptick in how forceful Democratic Senators like Ruben Gallejo were in saying Trump was suffering from dementia following the meeting with Schumer and Jeffries in September.

There’s a lot of people who claim to be really into politics but who are actually really into being righteously angry, and they’re pretty shitty sources of information. Anger is addictive and makes you stupid, try to limit it.
