This is about a government that consistently works on behalf of industry interests, and Nova Scotians pay the price.

This is only half of the story. While people are banned from the forest, Houston's government is permitting the forestry industry to carry on business as usual (esp. on private land) and conducting activities that have immediate risk and which continue to make NS forests more susceptible to fire!

The Government of Nova Scotia needs to be applying same rules to industry as it does to Nova Scotians. In particular there needs to be a moratorium on glyphosate spraying our forests! Not only does this activity pose a risk, but it in long-term it increases the susceptibility of forest fires!!!!

It appears that glyphosate spraying approvals will continue as planned!

Spraying involves activity from people & vehicles, and a huge amount of helicopter fuel! While the glyphosate itself makes forests far more vulnerable to forest fires!

A moratorium of glyphosate spraying is needed for 2025!

Forestry activity on private land is able to continue throughout this crisis.

Citizens cannot walk through their own trails but Minister Rushton & the NS Government are allowing all sorts of machinery to be operating in the woods.

You can see this pattern even within Montreal. The insane NIMBYism and fierce opposition to basic urban improvements frequently have me cursing anglos here in my traditionally anglo neighbourhood of Montreal. It is no surprise we're behind other (more francophone) boroughs.

The squeezing out of children from public space didn’t just happen - it reflects choices we’ve made, as a society, over the past 100 years to prioritise traffic, to stigmatise children’s and young people’s outdoor play, to erode domestic economic security, to commercialise play etc etc etc.

I love this park! It's so underrated. I used to go all the time with my dog when I lived in the Pointe.

They should absolutely be illegal! We should not tolerate these pointless tanks on our streets. They make our communities unsafe.

There's a lot of troubling elements to the sperm market, but the marketing of this look-a-like makes me laugh. With Kaos and now Wicked coming out, I wonder if they'll add an option for Jeff Goldblum (Older). 🤔

Admittedly, in my head "cyclists" are serious people in head to toe lycra, the rest of us are just folks who like to ride our bikes! And I say this as someone who has done a lot of international bike packing (including with a dog).

I was also super fascinated by this history that explains so much! I'm curious about how this is going to evolve in light of the current focus on fertility generally and pro-natalism among certain "bro" corners of the culture.

Great initiative! I would love to join the list!
