Tees Valley mayor Lord (Ben) Houchen promised renewal. Instead, Britain’s biggest regeneration project has turned into a taxpayer-funded scandal - enriching a few local businessmen while leaving public bodies on the brink.

I’ve just announced I’ll be leading a National Emergency Briefing on 27 November . At a time when climate is in free fall on the political agenda , it’s vital our leaders realise what is at stake if we do not accelerate a just , green transition for all .

So true and so inspiring and probably so under-reported … so pass it on ! “…showing that lasting health equity grows from the soil of justice and self-reliance.”

💯 this.
Being a Brit on BlueSky means seeing 1000x more messaging about an election in New York than your local council. Might as well message Zohran about my bin collection.

Great to see cost of living, democracy and mental health all getting a mention in the new mayor of New York’s speech. Also- quite a lot in here about democracy - worth watching the whole speech as a masterclass in political communication: youtu.be/nfdUn9H4gjA

Another great example yesterday - daily mail notably not featuring the “hero” story of the non white train guard from LNER on its cover. Wonder if a white guy had been the hero of the hour if he would have been featured…I think so
Does anyone have an answer for @cased.bsky.social’s question re the story below?

“who monitors bias in coverage / produces data on this? Seems increasingly important to have this data available and seen.”
The racially motivated rape of a young woman is barely getting any coverage www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... - big contrast to the wall to wall hostel assault coverage.

Nice work if you can get it (due dil £20mil)
Thames Water paid £20m to cover the due diligence costs of KKR for abortive attempt to buy TW.

Rich pickings for advisers. Customers pick up the tab for management follies. Details never provided.

TW has £20bn debt, survives by dumping sewage in rivers, fleecing captive customers.
