Listening to @newsagents.bsky.social re student loans, sounds a lot like a mis-selling scam tbh.

Also lol, 17yo can't get credit cards so hmmmm wondering about that too.

Oh and wage suppression baked into it, so the ROI seems questionable!

There are over a billion unbanked people around the world. That's a billion people who don't have a credit card for emergencies, a debit card for easy access to their money, or a credit history to help them get a loan. How many of those billion people are women?
January 24, 2026 at 8:15 AM
Today, police and institutions often act to protect themselves first from blame, not to protect women when something goes wrong, the focus becomes evidentiary, and avoids accountability. That reality can make women feel invisible or foolish for expecting help so they stop reporting incidents.

Women stay “positive” not by trusting systems that repeatedly fail them, but by decoupling their wellbeing from institutional legitimacy, cultivating collective resilience, and grounding themselves in an honest analysis of power.

Morning thoughts: Where liability management eclipses care, truth, and protection, women often remain “positive” not because conditions are just, but because they develop alternative sources of meaning, safety, and agency outside formal institutions.

I’m currently reading The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, and it’s prompting a lot of reflection about choices, regret, and the lives we imagine we might have lived. It’s a lovely book, quiet but also a powerful reminder of how our perspective shapes meaning in our lives. ☕💖

Who collects and funds the data, what is measured, and what is left out, all shape the story we see. This is why listening and recording victim and survivors’ experiences is just as important as counting cases: numbers alone cannot capture the real impact of violence against women and girls.
