We contacted every Carnegie Library and confirmed that about 1,280 are still operating and acknowledge their link to Andrew Carnegie — making them eligible for this #CarnegieLibraries250 gift.

What's next?

With enough imagination, will, and collaboration, we can build a movement to make a service year as common as going to college or entering the workforce — so that the question “Where did you serve?” becomes a unifying thread in American life.
