On an unseasonably warm September afternoon bike ride, I come across this trio of Canadian Geese hanging out in a drainage pond.
I only have my smartphone, so I grab one pixelated mess of a photo before the three angry birds promptly swim away.

On an unseasonably warm September afternoon bike ride, I come across this trio of Canadian Geese hanging out in a drainage pond.

All of this is temporary.
The reflective waters may or may not continue to flow. The trees will eventually fall. The entire valley, carved out by these same waters over millennia, will eventually morph into something else.

The signs are everywhere.
Even here, rusting away in the dusty corners of an elementary school parking lot.
I fear the day when someone decides to paint over the cracks and the rust.

Thick clouds choke the sky as day slowly gives way to night. The sun is nowhere to be seen, but its influence is felt all the same.
