The biggest thing I want from Apple Intelligence to unsubscribe me from marketing emails directly from the mail app. Yes I know there’s a tool for that, but it’s inconsistently available. I want it to work for all email.

I’m experiencing the newly renovated PDX airport for the first time and WOW. They nailed it. Beautiful architecture with relaxing places to wait. The new security procedures are delightful compared to the old way of having TSA agents scream instructions at a crowd of people.

I’ve been having this exact conversation with my son who wants to become a software engineer.
Generative AI is causing the tech industry to eat its seed corn.

Sure, you can replace three junior engineers with an AI and a senior engineer that cleans up its errors but where do the next generation of senior engineers come from?
What Will AI Do to Your Job? Take a Look at What It’s Already Doing to Coders
Artificial-intelligence software is eating the software industry, as companies turn to generative AI tools to save money on programmers. It’s a sign of what’s to come for many white-collar workers...

Yeah. This resonates hard. I think we’re collectively in mourning over what we’ve lost, and haven’t quite come to terms with it yet.
I just opened up Twitter, and wow, it's gotten so bad over there. I haven't tweeted in more than a month, and it's starting to hit me that the online friendships I made (more like online acquaintances, tbh) on that site are just gone. I'm trying to put this to words, but I can't quite do it.

Another little thing I appreciate about Apple: iPhone suggests skipping my next morning alarm if the next day is a holiday.

My favorite thing about RTO has to be the people lounging in the common areas with their shoes off, laptop propped up, and crap strewn about as if they’re still working from their couch

Is there a way to configure Bluesky to stop showing replies to threads you’re not part of? I hated that so much about the other site and am sad to see the same behavior here.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how LLMs are generally good at producing code. Soon we see LLMs generating entire context-specific interfaces on the fly for the specific data and task at hand. I wonder what implications this has for the app economy.

Got to workshop on my workshop this weekend. The miter station is put together and level with the new workbench. Next up is a tool wall and stop fence for the miter saw

Significant shifts in the digital economy are underway with the advent of LLMs. No longer do we solely rely on static data; we've stepped into an era where tools like AutoGPT can process information from diverse sources, including YouTube videos.

Remember Puppet, one of the early DevOps leaders? Here’s some niche swag that I can’t quite associate with software. Something Kubernetes? Nice shirt though.
