Went to my first silent book club meeting last night. Everyone brings whatever they’re currently reading—we go around and introduce ourselves and talk a bit about our chosen book—then we sit quietly and read for an hour or so. It was glorious!

If I want one of the dogs to come to me and think for some reason they might not want to, I call the other one. It rarely fails. FOMO is a powerful motivator.

Our husky mix pup romps in the snow, rolls in the snow, has a little lie-down in the snow, does not want to come in. He says, “I live out here now.”

By who? Who shot the person dead? You saw the video. We all know a federal agent shot a man dead who was prone on the ground. Also, it's not "according to officials." It's according to verified video seen with your eyes. Not saying what anyone can obviously see with their eyes is a form of lying.

Our year-old husky mix pup would love this arctic weather if it didn’t make the humans so dreadfully boring. What, only 5 minutes of throwing the ball just because of the -25° C wind chill?

I’ll go maybe a couple of paychecks without buying new books because I have so many unread and then my wife will say Next time you order books will you please get this one for me and then I have to place a book order because I’m doing it for her. I love my wife.

“Because you didn’t give me a prize, I’m changing my country’s foreign policy” — the sheer narcissism of that statement by itself should disqualify T***p from running a used-car lot, let alone a nuclear-armed nation.

The most important question to ask about Trump’s obsession with Greenland is, when are we going to see the Epstein files?

TIL: Shakespeare probably read Cervantes (they were contemporaries), and there’s evidence he collaborated with his protege, John Fletcher, on a now-lost play based on an episode in Don Quixote.

One of the shitty things about the racist and anti-lgbtq extremist direction of this administration (and all those like them) is people and corporations quit celebrating, or even supporting, marginalized people to avoid 'trouble.'

Fuck trouble. Fuck bigots.

Raise your voice.

Pretty willd how the DOJ just straight up stopped releasing the Epstein files even though they're legally obligated to do so.

Well shit, now I have to call one of my two Republican senators and thank him (despite his waffling comments on his vote). A welcome change of pace, but it feels weird.

Recently read:
Ecodeviance: (Soma)tics for the Future Wilderness, by CAConrad. I’ll be coming back to this book, more than once. CAConrad gives us the rituals/exercises that lead to the poems, as well as the poems themselves. The poems I write will not be the same after reading this book.

Normally when I call my senators and representatives, I try to express myself moderately. The messages I left for them today were rants. Ranting seems appropriate.
