The murders of the National Guardsmen in DC are abhorrent. The violence was absolutely not justified, but let’s keep two things in mind:
1. We don’t currently know the motive
2. The NG should never have been deployed to DC in the first place, and the time limit was long past

I signed up for Twitter and Facebook/Meta fact-checking programs back in the spring. I was approved. So how well does this new system work?

Unmasking foreign accounts is definitely the most (and one of the few) positive changes the Elon Musk regime has made.

Just spitballing here, but I wonder if the person who seems deathly afraid of having the Epstein files released and who was president at the time might have had something to do with Epstein's death.

Even if the Epstein files are never released, the sheer intensity of Trump’s freak out at the possibility of their release and the lengths he goes to in keeping them secret is a good indication of what he thinks they contain… and/or a guilty conscience.

Correlation isn’t necessarily causation, but this matches perfectly with the rise of Trump and MAGA’s corruption of the church.

The Democrats-in-disarray folks would do well to remember 2013 when Republicans were in disarray after a failed shutdown. Less than a year later, GOP won Senate and expanded House majority in landslide midterm win.

And both sides should figure out shutdowns don’t work.

The end of the shutdown looks different when you realize that Trump and the Republicans weren’t being punished. Federal employees, military personnel, SNAP recipients, and airline travelers were.
November 10, 2025 at 12:34 PM
The shutdown needs to end. GOP may see this as a victory but it will be pyrrhic one. Voters are not going to be happy with rising insurance premiums (or with Dems) but elections have consequences and country saw fit to put the gvt into MAGA hands.
Hopefully America will never repeat that mistake.

If you doubt that food prices are up, I just paid $50 for 10 pounds of ground beef at Sam’s. The same pack cost $5 less last March and $10 less in May 2024. (I looked back at old transactions in the app.)

Aldi had similar prices, especially allowing for more fat in the meat.

My big emotion after seeing this week’s election results? Relief.
Tuesday night’s elections can reassure those who are concerned about free and fair elections. If anything, this week’s results prove that Donald Trump and MAGA do not control American electoral institutions. At least, not yet.
