They smartly didn’t show the lights here so when he admits to Troi that he thought he could see 5, you don’t know if he hallucinated that or if Madred was actually showing 5

Picard is captured and we’re introduced to Gul Madred, played by Star Trek veteran David Warner who was called as a last-minute replacement when the original actor dropped out. He didn’t know the lines and was reading from cue cards. And still gave one of the best performances in this show’s history
