2. different way than, through different initiatives. The main point is that Carney did not break his pledge to May. Carney promised to meet Canada's Paris climate commitments, which swayed Elizabeth May to support his budget. Now all the (none climate experts) media are making DA assumptions.

This article is 'Not' the details behind Guilbeault's exit. This is an opinion piece by the opinionated Althia Raj. I respect Mr Guilbeault for the climate warrior that he is, but in this case he let his furor get the best of himself. This is an MOU, that addresses Climate initiatives in a 2.👉

Carney didn’t trade away the climate; he traded away the illusion that Ottawa could do everything at once. He chose to steady the federation first, knowing the climate fight dies if the country fractures. It looks like compromise, but it’s the kind that buys time, not sells out.

Carney didn’t betray anything. He made the call every leader eventually faces: hold the party line perfectly, or hold the country together. He chose unity, betting it keeps the climate fight alive. It’s not pretty politics, but it’s real leadership.

Getting an MOU signed has zero bearing on if, in fact the deal actually gets done in reality: Nothing is going to happen unless B.C. Coastal First Nations sign off on it. Nothing fast will happen at all, regardless. However, it will absolutely shut Prem Smith up & take all of her anti-Carney BS away
