They work like any other encounter thankfully - just run away until they despawn and then run back to make them reappear, repeat until shiny. Each one has a fixed location too so people have worked out the best ways to reload them (check Anibus/@Sibuna_Switch on twitter, they have a vid example)

I was just testing out the despawn route after working out where it was - I wasted a minute actually looking for where it spawned so I was planning to reload and make a save point with more time to hunt per reset, but I guess I didn't need to... (tagged for mega spoilers in my party)

Just felt a bit on the nose/forced, especially the way they had to integrate multiple copies of itself because they don't do unique forms for megas.

One-Per, I believe. Once you catch it i'm pretty certain the hole won't show up again in the pool of special scans.

But yeah the pathfinding in the hyperspace holes is the only thing that's really impacted my experience significantly, esp when each one has you on a time limit it can be frustrating when they waste 20 seconds getting stuck on a piece of scaffolding after going in completely the wrong direction.

The only time i've noticed menus not opening is during battles but it's always specifically when another trainer is in the process of sending out a pokemon (which can result in like a 10 second period where you can't heal if all three in a multi battle are curently sending out their pokemon)

Apparently a shiny alpha just gives the alpha dialogue, which is a shame but I guess they didn't expect anyone to give one away

There's an extra secret pun in this questline if you can give her an alpha
