Obviously not NHS-approved but our experience is: sacrifice the parent with the broadest chest and let toddler sleep on said chest, not entirely flat (eg parent resting on couch instead of bed). Plus what has been said about checking humidity in the room/avoiding overheating (max 19 degrees).
