And…

How are we going to organise and deal with the worsened isolation, microagressions and exclusion that will inevitably come from the shift away from any focus on DEI?

Because it was already, well, pretty hellish for BIPOC and many others.

But I fear now harm will just be emboldened more.

How are people dealing with extreme bouts of low confidence?

Is there an authentic-sounding bot yet that can give you evidence-based pep talks yet?

And I am once again reminding fellow leaders that if you need to be within centimetres of screen-peering distance to “know your employees are working” that, hunnies, is a ✨you✨ problem.

I’m seeing a lot “return to office mandates are not feasible for parents”. Yes, this. And, there are many, many folks they’re not feasible for.

People with disabilities, when workplaces don’t have decent accessibility.

People who face continual microagressions that were worse IRL.

Caregivers.

Whew. The combination of my angel Mum’s birthday, grief, SAD in the gloomy, cold, lonely times, and the news feeling more “dystopian doom if-only-it-was-satire” by the day has my mental health feeling like a frayed cheesestring.

At this rate, this will be the year that I write a blog.

Let me know when we’re ready to talk about how “designers just need to understand the ✨bizniz✨ more” wasn’t the biggest problem, or solution, after all. Actually.

We need to talk about #PlutoInAquarius.

Because between its technology focus and its deep focus on social revolution and liberation, we all need to hold on to our hats (and throw away our digi headsets) because things are already getting WILD.

It’s like a dystopian futuristic satire already.

Crystals: forever my reminder that, in an increasingly ridiculous world, there is natural beauty to be found in the small things.

This is aquamarine, and I just…💎

Shout out to my other small-talk-struggling weirdos.

Trying to find interesting responses to how your holidays and new year were 9 times a day is really something.
January 6, 2025 at 7:45 PM
How are people doing, you know, the things? All of them.

Another year of wishing I could relate to “new year, new, refreshed me” but, once again, I just have an extended taste for hibernation that’s reminded me it’s my true calling in life.

Can we pick up the things in Spring?

I’ve been quiet on here.

No, I’m not writing a content book or doing anything of extra-curricular value with my time.

But, you will be pleased to hear I’ve invested a very small amount of British pounds in a solid copper sphere which I’m staring into for long periods of time. 🫶🏾

I just know this is a safe space to talk about wth is going on in this series of #TheUltimatum.

People always want to talk about the future of AI and never why the production value of Married at First Sight NZ is so wildly offkey with the rest.

(Please. This is half rhetorical, don’t use ChatGPT to mansplain it to me.)

I hate how every take on being an introvert is: “Maybe you’re not really introverted…”

No, mate. Honestly, take my word for it.

I long for the deep silence and breaks of Friday eves after a week of pings and talky things.

I would have been carted off to “the seaside” for years in Victorian times.

Feeling proud of myself (a rarity!) today seeing my blood sugar levels back in the healthiest range after being diagnosed pre-diabetic earlier in the year. 🙏🏾

The amazing @tamuthomas.bsky.social just posted some important thoughts on IG.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot with self-help and productivity books.

After about 20 years of therapy, on and off, I was about ready to give up thinking “I” was the problem why I’d never had this game-changing therapy people speak of.

My new EMDR therapist has been amazing.

Note to anyone blaming themselves for struggling: try a new therapist if it’s not working.

Sorry I’ve been quiet, I’ve just discovered @feminnis.bsky.social has written a book on Tarot for the Hard Work: An Archetypal Journey to Confront Racism and Inspire Collective Healing — and this is my whole life now. 🤣

Thank you for combining the things my soul cares about into one book. 🫶🏾

Shout out to the witches, working 9-5 (not actual hours, pure Dolly reference), then trying to run a witchy bizz 8-midnight.

It’s me, I’m “the witches”. 🧙🏾‍♀️
