To apply that: what incentive does the Telegraph ever have to try and offer a more intellectually and culturally broad spread of content, as long as its revenue is solid?

Doing something because it’s journalistically and ethically correct carries no monetary reward, sadly

To be slightly boring and look at this from an audience perspective, I don’t know what incentive a subscription-based publication has to try and diversify its offerings

There will be a natural ceiling for growth, and at that point more intense engagement with your sub base becomes the focus

I am begging the senior staff at the Telegraph to go outside and talk to one (1) normal person

They keep trying to execute this multi-stage comms strategy around expectations management, only to get found out at stage one

The media ecosystem moves too quickly now to play these sorts of games

Speaking of: the no-confidence moratorium is over! Get those letters in lads!

I do very much think of Badenoch as Truss 2.0, in the sense that they're clearly both massive bullshitters - and high on their own supply

When ousted, she will do exactly what Truss did: take no accountability and blame everyone else
thing is I had her down as all kinds of awful but I never actually had her down as just outright stupid. Truss yes, not Badenoch

I initially misread that as "an antichrist collective" and was about to be like "well, that's one name for them"

Perhaps it’s sacrilegious to say, but I also think Obsidian has done a consistently bad job, across both titles in the series, of world-building

They don’t spend enough time setting up the factions and, as such, it’s hard to care about any of them – despite that being a core facet of the series

It’s perhaps unfair to grade it against them, but it’s hard transitioning from titles such as Baulder’s Gate 3, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and, to some extent, Elden Ring to OW2

It doesn’t offer anything new, and what it does offer is rather lacklustre

Don't worry lads, it's not like there's a giant bubble propping up half the global economy
Key line from OBR on new headroom of £22bn: “a small margin compared to the uncertainties around our economy forecast”.

Quite possible that Reeves will have to come back for more.
