Former NOAA fisheries biologist now in my second career as a HS science teacher. I'm interested in all things related to environmental policy, cycling as transportation, and public education.
And Nixon's crimes were completely trivial compared to Trump. They probably wouldn't even break the top 100 by today's standards.

Nixon didn't go to jail. He was pardoned by Ford.

But his Attorney General, Chief of Staff, General Counsel, and top policy assistant were all convicted and served time.

In the Trump Administration, that is the equivalent of Stephen Miller, Pam Bondi, Kristi Noem, Russel Vought, etc.

The truly embarrassing part is how Trump will probably blame Ukraine for the fiasco when it falls apart rather than correctly blaming Russia.

Honestly, governors are doing better than Senators at the moment in time.

Hoschul, Pritzker, Newsom, Mills, Walz, Shapiro, etc.

I gotta think our 2028 nominee is going to come out of a governor's mansion, not Congress.

Believe it or not, University of Washington is 20 years older than UConn.

I don't travel in Ivy League circles.

But these people are WAY RICHER than any academics I know.

We tried that after 1-6

Look where it got us.

Refusing to pay your federal taxes quickly lands you into "Sovereign Citizen" territory. And that never ends well.

For the most of us with payroll jobs it isn't even possible. We can not file, but most of the taxes are withheld anyway.

self-employed who don't file end up in a world of hurt.

Or more precisely.

They want to extract a cut from as much of all human activity as possible.

I studied Marxist economics in college in 1980s. My professor who was an expert in Marxist studies was a Reaganite.

But yes, Ted Cruz is just flat out lying.

No, I haven't read her letter.

The electoral college also rewards/encourages voter suppression.

A state like AR or MS can drive down votes through voter suppression but still gets the same electoral college votes as a state with 2x higher voter turnout.

I don't think she is actually resigning.

She's playing for Trump to invite her back into the fold and stay.

The US is the richest country on the planet and in the history of the planet.

We could have the world's best schools, free universities, high-speed rail, transit, clean energy, etc. etc.

But we are ruled by monsters which is why we can't have nice things.

The problem facing the GOP is that if they run an actual issues-based campaign they will lose. Because the public doesn't agree with them or their solutions on most of the issues facing this country.

The man reportedly has a PhD. And he's still going on about a college admissions exam score?

Isn't this like the academic version of the guy at the end of the bar going on about his HS football stats from 1987?

I dunno about Jeffries (or Schumer).

This was the master right here. And yes, I know Schumer was in that meeting too. But Pelosi was definitely the alpha.

Imagine what a breath of fresh air it is for Trump to talk to Mamdani after spending time with Miller, Vance, and Russell Vought.

No wonder Trump is fawning over him.

If he can get those transit billions released by offering to name a bridge or tunnel or station after Trump, more power too him.

The new "Donald J. Trump Memorial Subway Line"

Heh....
