not paying indirect costs for research is like only paying the players in the Super Bowl.

can't have a Super Bowl without coaches, referees, security, janitors, announcers, stadium staff, and a stadium - and you can't have research without supporting people and facilities

Dear biologists & neuroscientists --

I'd like to collect some cursory data on what the "typical" breakdown of funding between federal & private looks like in labs.

If you run a research lab or know enough about yours, could you fill this small form out? forms.gle/PEzWEYojBjfj...

To every Senate Dem: Shut it the fuck down. Trump’s unconstitutional chaos will kill people.
1️⃣ Oppose all nominees until OMB reverses the freeze.
2️⃣ Deny Unanimous Consent to slow Senate proceedings.
3️⃣ Vote no on all Cloture.
4️⃣ Force Quorum Calls at every opportunity.

It's time to fight.
Asked how organizations that rely on federal funding should make payroll, Trump Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt says they should call Russ Vought and make a case

A specific action for NIH funded scientists in NC, UT, KY, ME, SD, IA, LA, AK - instructions below for calling your representatives (today!!!) in slim-R-majority districts:
Scientists have ~36 hours to mobilize intense pressure on 8 republican senators to oppose leadership of #RFK at HHS (which controls #NIH). This is a critical, direct way to say no to the chaos and reign in Trump admin. Each essential state below w/ journalists & senate contact. 1/many 🧵
