I think the originals are simply more coherent.

The prequels as you say had an end goal

Yeah I agree with that, it’s one of the things I noticed when I rewatched last month, it kind of sets things up that inadvertently caused the trilogy to feel like three disconnected films instead of a whole.

Had it been intended as a one-off, we might have got Mark, Harrison, Carrie and Billy Dee

I know Mark Hamill was upset he and Harrison Ford didn’t share a scene and the decision to have Luke be missing was I think the wrong one.

I kind of wished they’d kept Han’s death until the end of the trilogy, because Ford’s absence is very much felt in the next two films, even with the forced cameo in TROS. Give our old heroes one last final stand together.

It’s between that and Empire, though I think Empire is the stronger movie. TFA played better on a subsequent rewatch recently, unlike its successor it has to be said. My issues with it are mostly plot related.

Do I think The Force Awakens is the best Star Wars movie? No. Is it my favourite? Again no. Is it flawed? Yes. But as the first one I ever saw on the big screen with my nine year old brother, the goosebumps when I saw Han again, that is irreplaceable to me. And then it all went downhill.

I first started watching F1 in 2006, caught up with 2003 later. 2012 is the first I have distinct memories of almost every race, and as I was 17/18, I was able to stay focused over the whole season. It kind of sums up why I love this sport, no matter how frustrating it can be.

And of course the only race that year Kimi didn’t score in. 2012 was one of those seasons that made even the most casual viewer a lifelong fan.

I wouldn’t know.

I think he’s pandering to an audience. Trouble is, that audience is not impartial.

Well of course, he funnelled billions into Norris’s career. I never thought I’d find someone at McLaren I dislike more than Zak Brown, but then Adam Norris opened his gob. Have some class man, acknowledge Verstappen’s incredible comeback and just be happy for your son.

Crofty’s been terrible for years, but Brundle was awful in 2025, his commentary in Abu Dhabi in particular bordered on the farcical. The bias was overwhelming.
December 10, 2025 at 4:35 PM
No it didn’t. The Monza team swap gained Norris three points, Verstappen lost by two. He’s already admitted Barcelona was a mistake but he was still going to finish behind the McLarens. He was also wiped out in Austria let’s not forget.

It wasn’t but Sky’s commentary yesterday was vomit inducing. And, as valid a question as it is, the mocking way in which it was asked is what pissed Max off.
