Who is "their own base" in your estimation?

I have. I choose the side that fights for Ukraine and doesn't want to murder 15 million people by destroying USAID. You've chosen the Trump side, so kiss my ass!

Say it with me: Gaza and Ukraine deserve freedom from genocidal imperialist aggression.

Because electing Harris was the plain answer to addressing climate change and the people who spent 2024 undermining her would rather forget that.
February 8, 2026 at 9:21 PM
I have very plainly and repeatedly criticized both Biden and Harris for their weak stance against Israel. I've been on team "cut the bastards off" since Obama's first term. Not sure who you're arguing with here but it ain't me.

"Remember when Hitler kept saying if you just let me invade one more place and I'll stop?"

Might wanna apply that lens to your analysis of the genocide in Ukraine dude. I can see your other posts.

Personally I would at least proofread my screed about someone else's purported lack of intelligence before hitting send but you do you.
February 8, 2026 at 9:06 PM
This also has nothing to do with your wild assertion that disaffected leftist are the base of the Democratic Party.
February 8, 2026 at 9:05 PM
The load-bearing assumption you're making is that this happened because Kamala Harris wasn't left wing enough, which simply isn't in evidence. The racism and sexism of the electorate and the general anti-incumbent environment were way more relevant.

Israel hasn't treated the United States as an ally in my lifetime, possibly ever. The relationship is "I will throw a grenade into your domestic politics if you don't do what I say." They're completely unequipped to do the "manage alliances" part of diplomacy because they don't see us as an ally.

Second sentence of your own link:

"Lincon and Taney had not been on good terms prior to Taney’s decision on the habeas question in Ex Parte Merryman, which he issued while acting as a circuit judge."

The Supreme Court never ruled on this issue.

The conversation you're trying to have is with someone who uncritically supports the Biden admin's Israel policy. I don't. I'm perfectly happy to be critical of it, have said as much in this thread and elsewhere.

I simply don't understand the pro-Palestinian reason to defeat Harris in 2024.
February 8, 2026 at 8:55 PM
The left who refused to vote for Harris are not the base. Black voters and educated professionals are the base of the Democratic Party. The people who keep threatening to abstain or defect are in no way "the base."
February 8, 2026 at 8:53 PM
Now this is just silly. I want freedom of movement, universal healthcare, a free Palestine, federally funded elections, etc.

Be serious.

Reagan didn't withhold weapons either. That's quite literally my point.
February 8, 2026 at 8:51 PM
Because the person I was replying to above is definitionally not an ally of mine. They're bragging about how they refused to vote for Harris.
February 8, 2026 at 8:50 PM
Will you vote for Democrats in national elections, campaign for them, caucus with them?
February 8, 2026 at 8:49 PM
I literally just said I did. I don't think the campaign was right to support Bibi when it was clear he was fully in the bag for Trump. I think it was a strategic error.

I still think she would have been a vastly preferable President.
