It's a balance feature foremost, otherwise low control wouldn't really be detrimental.

Second, it's supposed to represent places that were most autonomous, not visited by any tax collectors, etc.

No see, that's the funny part of it, most of earth's land is north of the equator, even most of Africa.

It's really the Tropic of Cancer that is the general border between the "global south" and "global north". It's also the southern limit of NATO obligation, BTW.

I wrote about a verse and a half of an alliterative poem for a friend years back. Metered or otherwise structured poetry is definitely a skill that takes lots of practice

Sure, it's different from other vapid hype in that it's captured the attention of non-terminally online folks, not that it is actually any more useful than crypto or NFTs.

That LLMs use plaintext as input and output definitely helps with that. And the inbuilt sycophancy doesn't hurt either.

Similarly, the number of people who blatantly run red lights to save themselves 30 seconds or so.

It's so bad here that I have to wait 5 seconds or more to be sure I don't get t-boned if I'm first at a green light.
