Do the fiscal rules factor in demographics? We're struggling to pay for today's old people, but in the imagined future when debt's falling there'll be even more of them relative to the workforce

All 10 of the most improved are special schools.

It's great to see their pupils' getting better grades and a welcome reminder that being outside mainstream education and put on the scrapheap are not the same thing!

Something we can do in lieu of P8 to recognise progress is look at the most improved A8 between 2024 and 2025.

Massive shout out to table toppers Church Lawton School here who went from 20.4 last year to 39.9.

Looking at individual schools top of the league it's Michaela! (sux 2b a h8tr)

Before you shout at me about Watford Grammar, GIAS says they're 'non-selective' 👀

Incredible scenes in the big league (MATs with 10 or more schools in tables) - Star Academies and my friends at the Harris Federation joint top with 50.4!

A8 of above 50 broadly means the average grade is a strong pass, grade 5

Congrats to Twyford CofE and Xavier - mainstays of the top of the P8 tables, underpinned by v high attainment.

Attainment 8 of 64.8 equates roughly to the average grade being a strong B in old money

It could make a difference if it makes it easier to prosecute businesses hiring ppl illegally. Current system is worst of both worlds as burdensome to those following the rules while easy to feign innocence as long as there are a couple of photocopies in a drawer somewhere

You can scoff but that visionary genius came up with the idea of putting rubbish in hard plastic containers...with lids! NY streets are like the deck of the Enterprise thanks to her

I think you'd still need some gas smoothing to deal with wind intermittentcy

Mine was later than that, in 2019. I believe they alternate between strikes and riots on a fortnightly basis

So does that change during KS1? At what age should we expect boys to catch up (if at all)?

UK now charges £60 for a tourist visa, add an additional tourist tax on top and you're in killing the golden goose territory imo.

It probably crops up in there but if not definitely Google Ganymede and Helen - debate about whether gay or straight sex is better written by a twelfth century monk

Brighter note to finish on though - the London dominance is far less stark than at KS2 and KS4 - go Not London!
February 21, 2025 at 10:49 AM
Unlike at KS2, nationally performance at A level is up slightly on 2019.

The disadvantage gap is depressingly consistent though.
