Happy provisional GCSE compare school performance day to all who celebrate!

No P8 this year because covid hit when this cohort were in Y6, so I'll be tweeting about Attainment 8. I've excluded independent and selective schools cos not interested in those educating in easy mode.

One of the most interesting gender gaps in ed data is the % achieving a good level of development at early years.
In 2024:
Girls: 75%
Boys: 61%
No one thinks that's because we're better at teaching little girls right? Girls are just naturally better at the stuff we care about at that age

After what's happened with T-Levels schools/colleges would have to be insane to get on board with the next big vocational qual when it comes along

As well as KS2 I've also updated the KS5 dashboard - here are some highlights

Congratulations to Girls' Learning Trust who knock COLA off the top spot for A level average points score. They are selective though so you'd expect them to do well.

I've updated my website with 2024 SATs data from compare school performance. Congratulations to South Farnham Educational Trust who top the table for RWM % EXS again this year. Although they (like the sector overall) haven't matched 2019 levels.

Although it had its downsides, eduTwitter brought the profession together in a remarkable way, particularly to challenge and shape national policy decisions. Ofsted lesson grading is a good example. A lot of nonsense from the 2000s was put to bed because of Twitter. BlueSky needs to serve same role.

Hi bsky, I'm working on ks4 school data but it's my son's birthday party this afternoon so probably won't have it up until tomorrow

I'm playing around with DfE's workforce census data. Do you think vacancy rate (as recorded in the Nov staff census) tells us anything useful about a school? 7Or the average something useful about a MAT?

Hi bluesky, I'm going to be publishing and talking about KS2 results here (rather than back there) tomorrow

If you know of colleagues working in primary who'd be interested please tag them in so I can let them know

It's interesting that since COVID/cost of living crisis the % pupils who're disadvantaged has held steady at 27%, but the proportion within that group who qual for FSM now has gone from 18% to 25%
