Inheritance is a folk/creature horror novel about a small town steeped in grief and secrecy.

Sometimes monsters lurk in the woods.
Sometimes they live next door.

They thought the beast was contained.
It was only waiting.

I’m Tyler. I mostly write horror, with a bit of sci-fi. At their best, both genres hold up a mirror to society and are about something real beneath the surface.

Regret shows up a lot in my work. It’s one of the scariest things. I’m also a sucker for a redemption arc… usually earned the hard way.
You enter this gnarled gash. The ice emits a susurrus you find familiar – they speak of your life. Of your past. Forever slipping your grasp.

But the ice is also… curious.

Who are you, what do you write, and are regret & redemption important concepts in your horror stories?

Monsters don’t survive on their own.

They need permission.

Watching Inheritance start to show up in readers’ hands has been surreal.

Thank you to everyone who’s shared photos and messages. It really means a lot.

You’ll never regret the hours you pour into your stories. Keep writing, even when no one’s watching. ✍️

I’d be lying if I said this didn’t make me smile.

Very surreal to see Inheritance on a list next to Mr. King.

Thanks for reading, everyone.

It's really neat to see #spielberg coming back to #scifi with #disclosureday. I love the string of sci-fi movies he did in the early 00s.

In a horror story, would you rather learn the terrible truth —
or live in ignorance, knowing something is wrong but never naming it?

One of the strangest parts of releasing Inheritance has been seeing readers pick up on the things that were hardest to write. The silence, the guilt, the way evil can convince itself it’s doing the right thing.

Thank you for reading.

What’s worse: the monster in the woods, or the people who kept it fed?

If you like horror where the town is complicit, the past refuses to stay buried, and the woods are only part of the problem...

Inheritance is out now. 🩸📚

I'm Tyler. I like it dark and gruesome, and where the real monsters are inside our souls. Usually I write to new wave and classic punk, but I wrote my last book entirely to #Alexisonfire

The woods are quiet this morning. That never lasts.

Seeing Inheritance land in readers’ hands has been surreal.

If you’ve started it and feel like leaving a review when you’re done, it helps more than anything right now.

Thank you for stepping into Walkerton.

I'm trying to be more positive, so I don't want to say anything bad about #welcometoderry, but I will say that that end thing where the one kid runs up out of the fog was one of the best things I've seen in a #stephenking adaptation in a long time. It was so perfect and such a great image.

I can’t get over how this was just in my head for two years, and now it’s a thing in the world.

Inheritance is out today.

If you’ve grabbed a copy, thank you. If you’re waiting for the right moment, it’ll be there when you’re ready. 🖤

On the eve of releasing my first novel, I just want to say thank you.

Writing Inheritance took years, doubt, rewrites, and a lot of early mornings.

Tomorrow it finally belongs to readers.

See you in the forest.

Walkerton isn’t ready for what’s coming.

I’m still sharing a small number of advance copies with readers who enjoy folk and creature horror and are open to leaving an honest Goodreads review.

If that sounds like your kind of night, DM me. 🩸📚

Finally got to see #runningmanmovie! Pretty awesome. So nice to see something that resembles the Bachmann story more than the Arnold one - although I love that one too!
