My best advice is to see what kind of jobs are posted frequently, and try to square that with your interest/experience. Ideally try to gain experience in an area that's high demand or always in need of qualified librarians (science and business liaisons come to mind!).

The thing I remember the most is there being a bowl of candy, and me really wanting the candy but feeling that it was impolite to accept the candy. I'm sure the interviewer could tell, because they offered several times, which was increasingly painful for me.
