This one has tickled my interest since popping up on my radar. The gameplay loops and art style very much my thing. The Gunk via Powerwash Simulator & Blue Prince?
The Lift is a new game from former Pathologic 2 devs that tasks the player with revitalizing and exploring a futuristic research base. In our limited hands-on time, it channels the tactile pleasures of handyman-style games, but with a narrative-focused twist.

The key to getting a great run in a #roguelite is to think "I'll just do a quick run before bed"

Boom, you'll be over an hour in, made progress to new areas and multiple unlocks, all at the cost of any decent sleep...

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who's coming to save you?

I'll be saved, but I'm guessing wherever I am is getting flattened.

I've been focusing on improving my airbrush control, and now at a point that I think getting battle ready can be handled almost entirely with airbrushing, which will be a massive time saver.

Airbrushed contrast paint almost feels like cheating.

Methods like NeRF and Gaussian Splats model the world as radioactive fog, rendered using alpha blending. This produces great results.. but are volumes the only way to get there?🤔 Our new SIGGRAPH'25 paper directly reconstructs surfaces without heuristics or regularizers.

Pushing through today to get the Norn and the Trygon painted to battle-ready. I'll be back to them to do the colour-shift carapaces once the rest of the crusade force is done.

2 carnifexes, old one eye, an exocrine, and 12 raveners to go....

Too much on the go. Time off soon with a goal of getting as much as possible battle-ready. Yay for airbrushes.

Can you tell I'm enjoying the Subterranean Assault detachment?

I am still figuring out logistics (and Rami has kindly offered to help a lil!), but I’ve been putting together a means for game devs to present GDC-style ‘talks’ on @playwatchlisten.bsky.social. When it’s public, devs will be able to submit a topic for consideration, and will be paid for their time!
As GDC talk applications have opened, I want to politely remind you that GDC remains one of the most inaccessible, unfairly expensive, and dangerous for-profit game industry events out there - and that offering your labour for free to it just adds value that pressures people into going needlessly.

Day 1 of @developconference.com Been told of the passion and attention to detail put into Indiana Jones, roundtables on burnout, explored the gap between the skills of graduates and the expectations of studios, and the grimey tech of Powerwash Simulator. #GameDev

Could have done without the bus I was planning to take to the station first thing not turning up, but we adapt.

The impact of the layoffs this week is clear in my socials. Many colleagues & peers facing an unknown future, often for the second time in a year. Events like Develop are vital to build the bonds in our industry so that we can better support each other in these times #GameDev @developconference.com

Logarithmic maps are incredibly useful for algorithms on surfaces--they're local 2D coordinates centered at a given source.

Yousuf Soliman and I found a better way to compute log maps w/ fast short-time heat flow in "The Affine Heat Method" presented @ SGP2025 today! 🧵

So, I popped into my local Warhammer store to pick up an order in the afternoon, and was surprised to see a box of Typhon still on the shelf. With a little encouragement from my wife, it ended up in my hands. New Raveners to build.
