UNBEATABLE (2025) - it's a little rough around the edges so far (some minor UI and animation bugs mostly) but when the tension ramps up and the song starts, all the minor quibbles fall away and you just get lost in this incredible rhythm action sequence with great music. Very very cool.

I watched Speed Racer (2008) by @lillywachowski.bsky.social (and many others ofc) and this film is absolutely insane. So many wild scene transitions, it's surprisingly rare for a regular cut from one shot to another. Surprisingly large number of car-mounted catapults launching animals as weapons

Drawing Hands is a lithograph by the Dutch artist M. C. Escher first printed in January 1948. It depicts a sheet of paper, out of which two hands rise, in the paradoxical act of drawing one another into existence. This is one of the most obvious examples of Escher's common use of paradox.

Excerpt from linked video description: After watching the local live music scene contract in the mid 90s due to poker machines, and then seeing our founding member Andy Lewis succumb to their allure, I penned this story of a musician playing the pokies where a few years before, at the same spot, he was playing his instrument. I had gambling on my mind because Andy, who didn't play in the band anymore, had just made me a bookcase and delivered it to my house by bus. The pokies had managed to make everything hard work for him. After this album was released Andy ended his life after putting a week’s wages in the pokies. I was in Canada on my way to remix this very song in Los Angeles. When I got to the studio on Sunset Blvd I decided to sing it again as well as re-record the piano, to improve on the album version. The next day when it was being mixed I sat in the piano room and wrote “The Curse Stops Here”.

Played the demo for World War V: Last Call, which is a voxel shooter game that's very cute. The developer tries to stop you from ending the demo, but you can just shoot him. store.steampowered.com/app/4031300/...

I've been playing The Entropy Center, which is a portal-like spatial puzzle game where you get a gun that selectively rewinds time for certain objects. I bounced off the demo originally a while back because I felt mechanically it was too simple, but the full game has been consistently great.
