Knuck if you buck practitioner
I need to master the skill of being confidently wrong in public. I’m almost jealous of y’all who do it well.

Why are y’all still buying Teslas?

Everything is fine

After almost 20 years on what we now call social media, I think I’m tired of having access to everyone’s thoughts. Some things need to stay in the head.

Supremacy isn’t strength, it’s fear selling wolf tickets. You see it in pull requests, in politics, and right here on BlueSky. Same pattern: defend the fragile, call it elite.

Healthcare is really expensive, and many people are struggling to afford it. However, most people don’t know how it got this way. It boils down to the same problem the US has with literally everything else: it would have benefited Black people, so we allowed the states to discriminate.

SNAP might be going away this weekend. I’m going to be out in the streets writing extra checks. Who is going to be out there with me?

When they go low, kick them in the face. (metaphorically of course)

I know some of y’all hate politics, but here is the reality: you are at the table or you are on the menu. You have a choice to decide where you end up.

I'm seeing new extensions in the Agentic space, like MCP-UI which use the term "open" in their descriptions. Open is not only having your code on GitHub. It's also putting your governance structure at the forefront. Open for interaction > open for reading or inclusion.

I know y’all mean well, but think about the signaling when you talk about Black folks and then say “instead they get … ordinary people.”
instead they get grandmas, and priests, and inflatable frogs, and ordinary decent people rising up and saying "this is vile, this is unamerican, these are secret police"

they get kristi noem in a staring contest with a guy in a chicken suit

GenAI is a multiplier. So `X * Y = output` where Y is the multiplier. It could be a 10x or a 100x multiplier. But, you also have to think about X. If X is shit, you'll get 10x or 100x shit.

I'm finishing up slides for a talk I'm doing at @allthingsopen.bsky.social next week, and I'm working on quotable phrases. "Good boundaries are how systems stay friends." is my favorite so far. This is my first public talk in *years*, so I'm excited to give it.

I heard this today, and it's not sitting well because it's true:

"Black people in America are so deeply entrenched in systems of oppression that an oppression against anyone is inevitably going to spill into our backyard"

This is why I'm against any form of oppression against anyone.

When the bureaucracy is too difficult to understand, people turn to magic. Perhaps this is one reason to vilify and defund education. If I wanted to be an autocrat, I’d break every system and have my people talk about me like I’m a mythical savior.

Right now, there's a lot of Americans complaining over being inconvenienced. I'm not sure if they have the brain capacity to understand what happened from 1865 to the present. I think brains would explode if they tried to rationalize what happened up until 1865. It didn't have to be this way…

Season 10, episode 2: Smug Alert! of the documentary, South Park, illustrates this perfectly. Moral superiority only leads to you smelling your own farts.
this is the really ineffective head-in-the-sand reaction a lot of folks on Bluesky tend to have if you talk about any harm reduction-based approach to the reality that millions of people are using AI tools today. The current approach to critiquing AI is obviously not working, but they don't care.

Spike Lee’s newest film, Highest 2 Lowest, was a joy. Jeffrey Wright is once again showing why he is one of the best actors of all times.
