My father was from Vermont, so I grew up eating it like that from as early on as I remember. Oh, the pie has to be just on the other side of warm, but not hot

I don’t think I can now. I find myself scrolling around to look at that tiniest shimmer of schmaltz dancing on the top, like a belly dancer in gold lamé as she gets to the final tease
