plausible to far too many, annoyingly. even when you explain why he's absolutely full of it, the lure of the simple sounding policy prescription without the tools to push back, is too much for the average Gary viewer. for some reason they get upset with being told the world is in fact, complicated.

just checked that, the story came out last night ? flags up as a story via BBG at 21:25. still, not in the least bit helpful, I agree.

guess it would need to be something remarkably unexpected to move the needle though ? it's not the data or the BoE I'm potentially worried about here, as you can imagine

it will take something quite spectacularly inept in the Autumn Statement to stop this happening now (although I note that today's print has only moved the implied cut from 21.6 to 21.9 bps for December). a further 25bps by end Q2 is not aggressive pricing either, I think.
