Also, my most-played for both 2025 and 2024 was Minecraft purely because I have a young child that wants to play it together all the time. (And other games we play cooperatively don't always let me use my account.)

Actually, I take that back, there was a surprise "bonus" episode of Bluey after their big season finale once. 😆
I see the appeal of having a fake out ending, but the logistics of pulling it off would be wild and comes with a lot of risks, to say the least.

I can't think of a time it's occurred for real.
The closest thing I can think of (which some of the ST conspiracy theorists are holding up as "evidence") is the meta "fake" ending at the end of The Dark Tower series, but that was contained within the same book and told you upfront what it was.

My wife really liked The Plated Prisoner series by Raven Kennedy. She also likes stuff by Elise Kova and Alyssa Thorn.
