There are a bunch of beads and bits and bobs that I’ve had stashed in a drawer for ages and I have finally found a use for them. I’ve already made 5 bag charms and had a ball doing it.

Also I had a really good hair day (I just woke up like this) but nowhere to be, so you get a selfie.

I painted the windows over at Parkdale Pottery’s Queen st location and my whole body hurts.
The door with the Parkdale pottery logo and a blue ribbon painted below it The pottery studio has large front windows with the logo in the middle. I painted a blue ribbon bow in the top middle that curls around the tops of the other windows with little snowflakes around.

It’s been quite a few years since we had snow in November and it was unexpected so of course I remembered yesterday as it was snowing that I threw out my winter boots at the end of last season because I was holding them together with duct tape. 😑

Ok normally the kiddo and I find this series very amusing and we take bets on the winner. But this has gone TOO FAR.
The new scholastic flyer just dropped and right there on the front page is the book “who would win? Porcupine vs pangolin” We all lose if these sweet babies fight, I’m having none of this.

Almost forgot about October’s reading stats!
Over on Storygraph I read 17 books in October, 1565 pages, 118.02 hours, average rating of 4.13. My highest rated reads were How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying: 5 ⭐️, Hemlock and Silver 5 ⭐️, Kill The Beast 4.75 ⭐️. All fiction. Mostly fantasy, then manga, romance, middle grade and sci fi. There’s a graph of all the pages and minutes read, which I’m not gonna summarize because how? But also it’s boring and who cares. 47% audiobook, 47% print and 6% digital. This is a collage of covers and ratings and honestly, I don’t have it in me to list them all. I read all the volumes of The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again that my library had. It’s been that kind of month. Circle graph of my book moods from October. 1/4 lighthearted, 1/4 funny, 1/4 adventurous and the last 1/4 is split between emotional, tense, mysterious, dark, and relaxing.

Ok, I don’t quite have the chutzpah I had yesterday, so here’s just a dump of images and vids from the gallery show I’m in that opened last night.

If you’re in Toronto, it’s at the northwest corner of Queen and Shaw and it’s on until tomorrow evening.

Throat lozenge season is kinda my favourite season.
A small chain made from ricola (throat lozenge) wrappers. I believe this style of candy wrapper chain was made famous by Sandra bullock in that movie where she goes to rehab and eats a lot of candy.

I’m working on some small tumblers and I’m really happy with how this one is coming out.

Also now that I’ve done it the hard way I have an idea how I can do it an easier way in the future…I can’t tell if I’m annoyed or happy about that.

This is a screen grab from a video from last year because I’m terrible at remembering to take photos. This shelf is also too bulky and I’m looking into something better, but in general, upright and very visible seems to do the best.

Some of the goodies I’m bringing with me!
Two ceramic red strawberry pins (brooches) on an oatmeal coloured, knitted sweater collar. The background is green. Probably the best trinket dish I’ve ever made. It’s longish. Has a scalloped detail running around the rim. The inner graphic is of cartoon oak leaves with a yellow to green gradient (I used a sponge like I was Debbie Travis in 1997!) on the oak leaves rests a brown acorn and a yellow and purple snail. It’s a very cute snail. I hold treasure aloft. A bud vase, smaller than my palm, with a stylized green vine wrapping around it. The vine is growing shiny red, small tomatoes. The background is the same green of the vine which was not at all on purpose but this is the only place I’ll admit it and most people aren’t reading these.

I’m doing a wee little pop-up at my friend’s studio shop this Saturday!

11-5 at Sage and Thistle Handmade Goods (2a rogers road, Toronto)
A handlettered promo poster for my next event! It reads: Britt Wilson Pop 👻 up! at Sage and Thistle Oct 18th!! The little ghost in the middle is in a pink burst shape. And his smile has himbo vibes. The background is black, the lettering is white and there are glowing white sparkles everywhere which is a gimmick I do to fill up blank spaces and is probably becoming too much of a crutch at this point if I’m being honest.
