And here is some footage of the route on Broadway in the Jewelry District.

This was the route. It crossed the freeway at 7th street. I can’t find a photo of what it looked like, but the bikes were definitely visible to the car traffic below.

What’s special about this extension is the A Line, since entering service in 2003 as the Gold Line, is now very much part of the culture of the San Gabriel Valley.

HS students grow up riding it, people are accustomed to using it, electeds are all on board, & there’s a built-in community of support.

The @metrolosangeles.bsky.social Pomona A Line opening was really fun!

I picked up an extra TAP card for @kennyuong.bsky.social.

Can confirm the hydrogen train is running.

Cannot confirm many other things about it. #SBCTA

It’s Dress to Impress Week for #SoCalTransitMonth!

Today we wore our summer dresses and checked out the #TorranceTransit Line 10X to SoFi Stadium. Where will YOU go on transit this month? @movela.bsky.social #TransitMonth2025

There is no shortage of opportunities to provide public input to transit agencies and elected officials - whether with public comment at meetings or surveys and emails.

It takes organizing and commitment to fight for changes we wish to see. It takes time, progress is slowed, but we can get there.

After visiting Vine St Mobility Hub and bus center, we walked under the I-215 to Downtown Riverside to Back to the Grind coffee shop.

We talked about complete streets, protected bike lanes, and traffic violence as a public health issue.

3 people biked to the event and showed us their e-bikes.

Riverside Rail Walking Tour with @calelectricrail.org and #IEurbanists for #SoCalTransitMonth with @movela.bsky.social.

We met at the Downtown Riverside Metrolink Station and toured the station. Discussed #Metrolink, the SCORE program, and electrification on the State Rail Plan.

As for annuals, I wasn’t able to grow any summer vegetables of my own this year but here are some from my community garden.

Excited for this offshoot banana plant from @gspeng.bsky.social ‘s garden.

Today I transplanted it from its temporary spot (raised bed) to its permanent spot (south-facing fence with drip line).

I cleared a section of the Okinawan sweet potato patch to make room. Also originally from a neighbor.

The fig tree is going strong and entering its peak harvest. We try to harvest as they ripen, but sometimes the squirrels beat us to it.

The native plants are beautiful this time of year with minimal water needed.

Rode E and K Lines today with my mom, and taught her how to use our light rail system to get to and around DTLA.

Spoke to Angelenos new to the system who were unaware they could ride to LAX. Lots of ambassadors and security personnel at each major stations.

I am a happy duck now that I’m done with this exam after 8(!) weeks of studying.

This person (photo permission granted) is riding a Lectric e-trike they customized with a wooden frame in the shape of a bus. It has a mini license plate with “MINIBUS.”

Love to see the creativity and self-expression that people put into their bikes—a secondary effect of having safer bike infra.

It’s incredible to experience how #SantaBarbara, CA has reclaimed space from cars by pedestrianizing iconic #StateStreet.

This 10-block section known as State Street Promenade was closed to car traffic in 2020. The streetscape includes planters and a 2-way cycle track in addition to wide sidewalks.

Build more bike lanes and you can induce demand for a rolling DJ street party.
