Both Dias & Graham explained they don't use term #ChristianNationalism. It's troubling that both religion reporters at national paper of record still won't use that term in the year of Project 2025. Seems like they're missing out on massive angle for understanding religion in US today. 2/

New DHS video calling US "the last best hope of man on Earth" is pretty psychedelic (x.com/DHSgov/statu...). And it includes image of An Appeal to Heaven flag that's popular with Christian Nationalists. Fits with other DHS religious appeals (publicwitness.wordandway.org/p/the-bible-...)

NYC mayoral race had 1 religion question but it was actually insightful since it asked about religion in general. Cuomo won Jewish & Christian voters, but Protestants much closer than Catholics or Jews. Mamdani won other faiths & nones. Protestant split would've been interesting but still nice q. 3/

This claim from Erickson is dumb. I spoke at No Kings rally about my Baptist tradition (youtu.be/WcUzV8dQtIU), saw lots of others from my Baptist church there, & saw multiple pastors & members of other local churches. Also, several people held up signs with Christian messages.

Ben Carson claims too many pastors are talking about "social gospel" instead of what Bible says. Except social gospel ideas are from Bible! So he challenges pastors to preach differently. We don't need politicians lecturing pastors on how to preach.

Benny Johnson, who has history of plagiarizing & passing along fake news, compares Kirk to Stephen the 1st Christian martyr by claiming Kirk & Stephen were same age. Quite a claim since we don't actually know Stephen's age.

Many political reporters will miss importance of Chris Tomlin singing at Kirk memorial (including "Holy Forever" near start). Incredibly famous worship writer whose songs show up in thousands of churches every Sunday. This worship-washing will impact how many Christians view Kirk & his politics
