Grateful they were covered but these headlines are such weak both-sides framing, Daily Herald (as is especially the conclusion of the second article)

Also this email notice from Metra about the delay didn't appear until 30 minutes after I was expecting to catch it (and 7 minutes before it was supposed to arrive downtown).

But you don't have to take my word for it...

Roughly this:

Transit proposal:
BRT on York/Elmhurst Road, DT Mount Prospect to DT Hinsdale.
Connects four Metra lines, three of which are Metra's top 4 ridership:
-BNSF-Hinsdale
-UPW-Elmhurst
-MDW-Bensenville
-UPNW-Mount Prospect
Opportunity for west-side O'Hare Access, and serves inner-west burbs.

The post text also highlights my On Demand zone (which is about to get doubled in size thanks to a Cook County grant):

Picked up this much beer with my cargo bike and kiddo in tow. Beer store was in a strip mall, so I'm either giving off Cool Dad or DUI Dad vibes.

What did these signs do wrong to get hit by drivers, @npr.org?
September 25, 2025 at 6:29 PM
Apparently I chose the right mug today by complete coincidence.
September 8, 2025 at 4:09 PM
Mission accomplished.

Gave some away, spread more out in areas I wasn't planning on touching this season, and heaped the remainder in our yard waste area to use for next season.

Almost 11 hours later and it's dark and I'm calling it done. I ended up covering a ton of garden beds and tree bases I wasn't even planning to touch. How is there still so much?
August 31, 2025 at 1:26 AM
*Cries in how is there still mulch, I did the math multiple times!*
August 30, 2025 at 10:53 PM
Today is going to be a long day as I try to begin our yard conversion to a combo of clover and native wildflowers. That pile of mulch is 1 of 2.

Planning a trip from a northwestern suburb to a due east northern suburb and the fastest transit trip goes through downtown (and biking is foolhardy, if near same travel time), we're doing it wrong.
August 23, 2025 at 1:22 AM
An e-bike is a serious game changer if you have a longer commute (I'm at 9 mi).

Except for sub-zero temps in Jan/Feb where I carpooled (and not coincidentally had awful mental health), been consistently biking 150 mi+/week.

Awwwww thanks barista buddy!

Similar situation by me. Vacant for decade+ at this point. It was supposed to provide hundreds of units.

Catching up on emails means I'm taking work from my atrium office instead of in my cave office.
July 21, 2025 at 2:17 PM
Just your reminder that the CTA Chicago Ave and Ashland buses *each* moved more riders in 2024 than any Metra line but the BNSF.
