I was just watching TV the other day. There was a recording of a violent murder by ICE agents who tacked a man to the ground and emptied ten rounds into him, taking him from his family. These are the people McCormick wants to stand behind. That was what the president ran on.

For the sake of argument, let’s pretend this was a city’s local law enforcement. Let’s also assume that the man being subdued by multiple officers was an actual criminal. This would be murder. Police aren’t allowed to just kill people. We can stop pretending now.

This is more than an abdication of job responsibilities. It’s an abdication of morality and personal accountability in service of a party in service of compensation for addictive media attention. When evaluating tradeoffs, even murder is acceptable.
