NHL refs are fine
every fan in every sport seems to believe the league they watch most closely has uniquely bad referees who are worse than they were at some unspecified point in the past

An awesome, genuine story beat that opened the entire Star Wars universe up for pretty much anything in the future.

And then they f'd it all up for reasons I still cannot understand.
Josh O’Connor calls THE LAST JEDI “so beautiful.”

“The end of that movie - how anyone could be a Jedi... I just remember seeing that movie in the cinemas and I wept of that last image with the boy. It’s just one of the most iconic images in cinema”

This. This was the formative event of my generation & our entire politics in 🇺🇸. The structural break after which we were no longer a full democracy, when 5 Wizards In Robes decided they were a super-legislature & counting all the actual votes didn’t matter. The rest has been 25 years of commentary.
25 years ago today, SCOTUS elected George W Bush president of the United States by blocking completion of a voting canvass in Florida. A subsequent canvass by the Associated Press showed that Bush's rival, Al Gore, had won the race in Florida—and thus the contest for the presidency—by 700 votes.

The OL is tired, it’s beat up, and it’s being asked to run plays the defense knows are coming.

And on top of that, DLs can tee off because they know when the snap must happen.

No wonder it’s been a struggle.
We've been through this at length, but here's an update on the snapping the ball late situation.

On the games graph, the red dots are #Eagles games. I labeled the most extreme ones.

Remember when they shut down I-76 and 30th street station for Gaza?

Man...they must be doing some CRAZY stuff about it now!

It's technically the right read. You can argue that the window is too tight to be worth throwing off your back foot on first down. But man it's really just a great play by Hart, and also by Jefferson. That ball gets intercepted 1 time out of 100. Probably a completion 40+ times.

This #Sixers drone camera is great because I always wondered what it’d be like to sit in the 10th row and have terrible vision.

This is too many, but the idea is correct.

Each party picks 10. Luck of the draw. Opportunity for en banc review.

End the games. And yes, it’s probably the most easily achievable. You need a trifecta, but that’s it.
I'm going to keep saying this in my effort to speak it into reality: Supreme Court should have at least 100 Justices with rotating panels (and maybe an en banc option). No single Justice should have so much power and they shouldn't be names everyone knows.
A court with a normal-ish conservative majority would have been tolerable. I'm not eager for court packing, impeaching justices, and other such options. But this court sticking around post-Trump is untenable. They've already torched their own legitimacy, the only question is what do we do about it.

Kill these K balls now. This is gross. Maybe just don’t even allow FG attempts longer than 60 yards.

#FilmSky absolutely losing its shit over Paul Dano is wild.

Must be exhausting.

Tyrese Maxey shot a fadeaway from the corner with two seconds left while moving toward the baseline, ended up in his own bench, and still was the first Sixer back to block Melton's shot at the buzzer. That's one of the most amazing defensive plays I've ever seen.

Yes, I know it's based on a book with the same title, which is in turn based on a real person.

But.

Hamnet is an awful name for a movie. Just dreadful.

Hard not to notice from this chart that the 4 lowest sack% games for the #Eagles are the 4 since the bye.

The offense was already focused too much on turnover avoidance. If they spent the bye adding sack avoidance to their goals, it was probably the wrong focus.
Jalen Hurts threw the ball on every dropback last Friday vs Chicago--the first time in his career he completed a game without a sack or scramble.

We've discussed the lack of designed QB run game, but he is also scrambling much less: 5.8% since Week 2, was 9.0% in past years.

Call them tweets. It’s almost a generic term meaning “short social media post” already. Finish the job. Twitter isn’t even called Twitter anymore. People will know what you mean. Or they won’t, whatever. Just call them tweets.

They have looked poorly coached all season.

Either the designs are bad, in which case it's the coach's fault.

Or the players are not executing correctly. Which, at this point, is ALSO the coach's fault.
“Coordinated” is not a word you can use to accurately describe the Eagles’ offense.
