My 1944 wartime civilian radio has had a crudely shaped and painted expanded metal speaker grille added at some stage.
The fabric remnants on the speaker board indicate it should match the museum specimen cloth.
I will have to search for a cloth. That metal can't stay.

It has been badly sandpapered and varnished, so the original branding is gone. 😕

Time to start work on the 1944 Civilian War Radio.
The three 8uF HT caps are in a bad state.
Two of them are very old Radiospares caps, unlikely original, and a metal can one from a much later fix.

The wooden case is also smashed apart but that can be easily fixed.
