Hahahah not disputing that America is a shithole country at all. But I have a vivid childhood memory in the early 90s of them talking about toilet rats and it terrified me so much I never used the toilet we had in the basement again. 😭😂

Back in the day like early 90s they did a story about the toilet rats on evening magazine. They said it most often happened in West Seattle, where we lived at the time. I was probably 5. I’ve been scarred ever since tbh.

Not Jewish but had a Jewish stepmom that used to joke that one thing Jews and Canadians really have in common is that we both always point out when someone is Jewish or Canadian. I love this commonality between Jews and Canadians. It’s a part of what makes us special. 😎

As a Canadian I completely see what you’re saying. Maybe it’s the Jewishness plus stoner culture that makes him seem so much more Californian/american. It’s not just one or the other, which might read more “Canadian.”

I’ve sent Cassidy a card thanking him for his support of the MAHA mgmt & suggesting we should rename measles after him. Also considering sending post cards each time Kennedy makes a mockery of Cassidy for his support. This made
me feel a little less insane after seeing Cassidy on the news bitching.

I’m a white disabled woman who is a naturalized citizen and I call using my privilege for good “karening for a cause.” Even among disabled and immigrant communities I hold a lot of privilege. Also used to joke that I was an “undercover immigrant.”

Love her so much. If you (or anyone reading this) hasn’t listened to the album she made with Levon Helm before he passed away…do it. I saw her open for Van Morrison and she is one of the best musicians I’ve ever seen live.
